With the second leg ending in a 1-1 deadlock on aggregate, the teams were forced to take it down to a tension-filled penalty shootout.

In front of their home crowd, in Nicosia, APOEL ended Lyon's Champion's League campaign with a 4-3 victory. APOEL is also the first team from Cyprus to reach the quarter finals of the Champions League

Special shout-out to Esteban Solari for stepping out of his brother's shadow and helping his team to the quarter finals.

Barcelona   Barcelona  7-1 Leverkusen   Leverkusen
agg (10-2)

Barcelona: (25', 42', 49', 58', 84' Messi, 55',62' Tello)
Leverkusen (90+1' Bellarabi)

It was the Lionel Messi show at the Camp Nou last night as the diminutive Barcelona player showed the world that size does not matter.

The football giants made their opponents look like amateurs and the two goals they got in each leg seemed like a joke compared to the 10 goals they were dealt. It was a thrashing like no other. Here's a list of some of the other big wins in the history of the competition:
