After a tumultuous year for Chelsea and the recent issues concerning former manager Villas-Boas, Chelsea managed to turn things around and make it to the UEFA Champions League quarter finals.

Facing a seemingly unsurmountable 3-1 deficit coming into the second leg, Chelsea needed not only to climb a mountain but keep the opponents at bay as well. This was exactly what they did at Stamford Bridge where they pulled off a stunning 4-1 victory thanks to a combination of the teams' best veterans.

Real Madrid has just celebrated it's 110th birthday and have made a grand celebration out of their round of 16 match against CSKA Moskva with a convincing 4:1 victory.

The first leg ended up with a disappointing draw with the equalizer coming at the very last minute of the game. Madrid led the entire match only to give it away to the Russians with a lapse of concentration in the end.

For the second leg at the Bernabeu no prisoners were left as they staged a complete massacre of the opponents to advance to the quarter finals.

Jose Mourinho made a good decision by starting with Higuain for this game which the Argentine striker quickly paid back with an early goal.

It was a game which showed unselfish passes and absolute teamwork and the team comes a step closer to increasing their 9 Championships as they face Cypriot team APOEL in the Quarters.
