Just a couple of weeks after the blue clay fiasco at the Caja Magica in Madrid where we saw Nadal and Djokovic bowing out go out early, The best player in clay stomped his foot down firmly in Rome to beat Novak in straight sets 7-5, 6-4.

This is Nadal's sixth title in Rome and the win hands him back the no. 2 spot in the world rankings behind Novak Djokovic and ahead of Roger Federer.

Nadal is playing better than ever but injuries have gotten in his way in recent months. He will next compete in Roland Garros for a possible seventh French Open title. World no. 1 Novak Djokovic has been able to beat Nadal in seven straight meetings last year which eventually handed him the no. 1 spot. With Nadal back on track, Novak must be feeling the pressure. HIs last win against the Spaniard was in the Australian Open final but he has now been beaten by Nadal in their last two meetings.
